Recycling at Dual: Leading the Way to a Greener Future

Our first step was to collaborate with the local council to establish a fortnightly recycling collection. Now, our offices are equipped with paper recycling bins, and our break room features mixed recycling bins. Thanks to these efforts, we divert up to 9,360 litres of recyclable materials from landfills each year!

This initiative ensures that a significant portion of our waste is reused, reducing our overall carbon footprint and promoting a culture of sustainability within our workplace.

Electronic waste is a growing concern, and at Dual, we’re committed to tackling it head-on. We have implemented an E-Waste scheme that allows our team to bring in any electronic goods that would otherwise end up in a landfill. These items are collected and taken to a local recycling centre offering free disposal. For smaller electronic items, we utilise our local stationery supplier’s recycling service.

The e-waste initiative not only prevents harmful substances from polluting the environment but also supports the responsible disposal and recycling of electronics.

Our commitment to sustainability extends beyond recycling to include our packaging practices. Our motto is simple: use and reuse. When reuse isn’t possible, we aim to use and recycle, repeatedly. If recycling isn’t an option, we turn to biodegradable products to minimise environmental impact.

Bubble wrap posed a unique challenge. While we found recyclable options for wrap, tape, bags, and other items, finding a sustainable solution for bubble wrap was difficult. After thorough research, we sourced a supplier of biodegradable bubble wrap.

This innovative product allows us to protect items during shipping while ensuring that the wrap decomposes in a landfill in a few years rather than lingering indefinitely.

These simple yet impactful measures have significantly benefited us, and we are grateful for our collaboration with community partners. From diverting large volumes of recyclables from landfills to responsibly managing electronic waste and innovating our packaging solutions, we are committed to reducing our environmental footprint.
